Inspiration & Innovative Design: Surya at a Glance
I have written several articles about companies that I explored at High Point Furniture Market in 2022. I spent about an hour and a half exploring the styles at Surya, and the selection impressed me very much as a designer. In this article, I take a closer look at the furnishings offered by this innovative company.
Who is Surya?
Surya is a company originally founded in India, with headquarters in the United States. A family-owned company, Surya focuses on accent furnishings, rugs, textiles, and small pieces such as lamps and mirrors. They even offer a limited selection of larger furnishings, including sofas and chairs.
The designs represent an eclectic style, ranging from simple lines to elaborate designs. Also, with attention to detail and quality, the offerings add powerful impact to any space, and can mesh with virtually any design style.
Using a variety of finishes, textures, and high-quality textiles, furnishings serve to elevate interior and exterior design. The sample rooms at Furniture market displayed the potential of Surya furnishings and exuded fresh, exciting styling.
Company perks for designers & customers
Surya offers rug samples for designers, who can then present the samples to design customers. The samples are well-sized, to allow an accurate assessment of color and texture. Each year, designers can order a limited number of complimentary rug samples with a design account.
The Surya website has introduced an inspiration gallery named Surya Spaces, where designers link styled rooms to their Instagram account. The high-quality photographs featured on the main website offer inspiration to anyone in need of creative ideas for a space. I felt like a kid in a candy store browsing through the photos—it was better than looking through a design magazine, and I knew exactly where to source the featured items!
Gate City Design now partnering with Surya
Gate City Design has partnered with Surya with a trade account, to offer these fabulous products to design customers. Not only will these products thrill anyone looking to revive a tired room, purveyors of Airbnb properties will find the designs and price points to be perfect for creating a dazzling space.
